Wildlife Science Consulting conducted special-status species surveys throughout a ~5,200-acre site as part of an ongoing Site Closure Program. We assisted Biosearch Associates’ biologists with annual aquatic surveys for California tiger salamander and California red- legged frog. We lead a team of biologists while implementing a three- year trapping study monitoring California tiger salamander population and upland habitat use at three breeding sites. Additional tasks included special-status species surveys for foothill yellow-legged frog, burrowing owl, American badger, San Francisco dusky-footed woodrat, western pond turtle, and nesting birds. In a coordinated field effort with California Department of Fish and Wildlife biologists, we implemented a California tiger salamander larvae salvage and relocation effort to save imperiled larvae in an artificial water impoundment. We implemented a bullfrog eradication program using standardized techniques for amphibian capture and removal.
